I just got a macbook pro for working purpose. Mainly for commerical work and checking mails. At least i can rest in mind that i won't face the attack of virus. Downside is kinda of expensive, but it worth every penny mentioned by Andy Ihnatko. Why not??

mac better for graphics processing?

espn

Myth. :)

I got a Mac because basically the

i) essential software I use, is more readily available on Mac.
ii) The upgrades for the s/w is cheaper, $150+ for iLife, iWorks and $200+ for OS.
iii) the OS is much more robust more than any windoze (3.11, 95, 98, ME, 2000, NT4, XP, Vista).
iv) the RISC processors were much better than CISC processors in processing MM stuff (tho' now all using CISC).
v) IEEE1934 support on the devices.
vi) Cooler GUI & LCD screens are much better than laptops/normal desktops.

Hi David, i believe is a DVI to VGA adapater.
It connect to an external display, projection device or TV that uses a DVI connector or use the included DVI to VGA adapter to connect a VGA monitor.:coolnod:

I think you are referring to Virtual PC... But it takes up A LOT of RAM and system resources... IMO it's still better to use Boot Camp and run the OS natively

true..if you are going to use windows only. if you are using mac apps and just need to use windows for a while then boot camp is not really suitable.

To some users, the purpose of owning a mac is to perhaps avoid the problems with vista. Installing dual OS is opening the gateway to allow virus to attack on system bios and other system bugs that may follow. If I can, i try to use a mac on a machine meant for mac and a basic PC with windows loaded. (I still prefer windows 2000 as its NT based).

Anyway, each his/her own. If one is happy, go with the flow.

Have a happy day!

Try memory world at simlim. The ladies there are trained to upgrade your notebook on the spot and test if it works. They may not be the cheapest, but their service is great and I feel safe for such one time investment.

My mbp was upgraded there and i heard the mac shops get from them as well. So, I went passed a middle merchant and get direct full warranty for my ram.

One thing about ram is, if it works for the first boot up, it will work for many years to come. Of course, this is referred to good brands out there.

Meanwhile, remember that alot of memory stuff are made in Taiwan. I have a friend in Taiwan working for a company making SD cards. brands like Samsung and some Japanese brands oem from there. As to why that Taiwanese firm is chosen is because of the high quality of parts used to making them. I was told they used pure gold threads in making them. So, good brands makes a difference as opposed to no brand stuff.

For Mac RAM you can approach Louis from Funan Apple Centre (Multimedia Integrated), one of our partners. They can give you special price for our members. Please bring your membership card along.

The people who need the anti-virus and anti-spy the most, don't use it, consequently making the platform more dangerous for everyone. I use free security software, and I've never had a problem with security. If you run a lot of programs that are Mac specific, and very few Windows apps, obviously having a Mac is your best bet. With OS X you can actually use that full 4 GB instead of just having it sit in your computer doing nothing.

Not true :knock1: The logo is at the backside of the computer and, as a Mac user for 21 years, I have never seen the logo while using my computer.

Anyway, here's a ridddle:
