"Attention please, the train at platform A is not for passenger service, please board another train"...
And here comes your friendly MRT staffs, moving in the moment the doors open to kindly request all passengers to leave the train... with whistles... "Beep, beep beep...." they goes...

Sure, there are some passengers who are not paying attention to the PA system or due to some other reasons, not responding to the advices, but isn't there a better (a more gracious) way of requesting the passengers to leave the train? :dunno:

Whistle was invented since 1878, main usage were signalling and time keeping of certain events. Common sports like soccer and basketball used whistle to attract player attention, especially at a larger area of field play. It also act as a safety warning devices of a danger rather than using pitch voice to attract attention.

There's no reason ppl don't respond to the PA system as 4 different languages were announce. Miority could just heck care it, but so far i did not encounter train master using whistles. Still whistle is the fastest way to alert passengers off board. Am sure each train got a timing to meet. :)
