Very easy lar! you must know which area you are strong in? What you like more, example i like girl so i attack on shooting girl first. Streaming yourself first, attack on what you like more or strong in. Shoot until you get what you want and ask for review. But equipment also play a part hor.

You can try shooting in your room, make sure use a tripod to handle the low lighting condition.

You can try the park or street for a starter. Personally i used a 50mm lens for most of my street shots.

The most important thing is to know what you want to use the camera for. I prefer humans (aka weddings, females, nudes), so my equipment is solely catered for this area of speciality.

Apart from that, I use my equipment for travelling shots etc. (I spammed the older SLCC forum w/ my Japan shots, but the forum is now down heehee).

Ask yourself what area you like before diving in. Certain equipment can be overlapped in different areas of usage depending on your style.

As for subjects to practice on, depends on what you like to shoot more. Like a broken record (again), I prefer humans because of the plentiful expressions possible, but it's just me.

Well, for starters, when everybody starts, we all take things everywhere we go, till we find ourselves raising the bar on our own standards, wanting to do better then we'll evolve.

I used to bring a CoolPix 4600 around just in case I needed to take pics. Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes it's neat to have a compact/dslr with you. I used to leave home on weekends with my DSLR when I initially got it. Same thing.

If you like to take photos, I can help you take too.. heehee.. :D

Now is the best time for you to try shooting at home! Give you some tips lar!
Use more window light to shoot anything you want. You can use slow shuttle to record low light condition too!
Just play with it and pass time, make mistake also nevermind right?

actually miss the last 2 basic class at slcc so in the end, did not have a flash. now had been trying to play with my 400d... and trying different shots.. lolz but nuthing presentable at all! lolz
