My guide is based on Tiger 10.4.x. For other versions, please contact me if you need help.
You need to have X11 installed first. How to check if you have it?
1) Go to Applications
2) Go to Utilities
3) Search for X11 inside
If you don't have it, install:
1) Pop in your Tiger DVD
2) Once it's mounted, open it and look for Optional Installs icon
3) Double click on Optional Installs icon
4) Follow on-screen instructions until you reach Custom Install
5) Make sure you have checked X11
6) Follow on-screen instructions
7) Once done, X11 can be found in Applications -> Utilities
8) You might wanna put it into the dock (optional)
GIMP
1) Download the Gimp.app package from http://www.gimp.org/macintosh/
2) Double click on it to open the package
3) Open another window and go to the folder you wanna install it (Applications is recommended)
4) Drag-and-drop the GIMP icon from package to folder
5) Follow any on-screen instructions
6) You might wanna put it into the dock (optional)
