How many cameras do you bring for a shoot?

I used to bring a spare body/camera and spare flash with me when I shoot. Am I going overboard with backups?

Is normal to bring spare camera and flash.

I still bring 3 sets of AA batteries for my flash, 3 spare batteries for my camera, 1 quantum battery pack, kinda of little?

For me , 2 Bodies , Longest & Macro Lens attached to bodies . Flash & 2 sets or batteries is a must together with a wide zoom lens . But depending on where i am going , otheriwse my regular is a body with Macro & a wide zoom lens .

It can be heavy but safe .

I have 2 Quantum battery packs still unused.:grin: Problem with choosing backups is you may never need them but what if you do and you have the wrong equipment.

Bring barely sufficient to do a shoot; use them confidently, but exploit the equipment fully. :cheers:

I was with a commercial photographer from hk few days back for food shots. He had more props in his backpack than camera equipment. It was refreshing to see that. Other commercial photographers (from Korea, Japan, Philippines, Taiwan and China) I worked with had different workflows. None had used a prime lens in front of me for close up shots. I was usually the only idiot with a group of primes and a tripod. That put a smile on their faces. LOL

Hmmm... guys, talking about backups...
Normally I just carry my 10d. If it fails on me I got my Ricoh p&s and when even that fails, I got my SE P1i...
