Am considering either a LCD or CRT monitor urgently. Anyone can advise what are the good and bad points of the 2 monitor? Mainly going to use for colour corrections and editing images. Thank you.

If you are using it for editing images, note that you need a high contrast ratio like 800:1 and above with a true 24bit color monitor.

Like you, I was very apprehensive getting a LCD for my photos 2 years ago when the CRT scene was slowing down. However, after getting my Samsung 910T (contrast: 1000:1, color: 24 bit) I'm pretty pleased with it.

I will probably be looking at the Dell 24" soon when my current LCD hits 3 years old this dec and probably it's time to retire it (aka video out for my MBP) and get a 24" WA LCD for photos.

Yap noted, thanks for the good advice. Samsung would be a better brand?

It's good enough for my usage now.

However, would probably look at Ezio, Apple, Dell for my next LCD. Would definitely love the Apple Cinema Display 30" but that's like super outta my budget considering that you normally change a display every 3 years....the depreciation is much too high.

I got limited budget. Not looking for high end LCD. So long work reasonably well should be fine. Of course colour accuracy is a must after calibration. :D

To achieve the best colour accuracy, I do advise you to get one that's true 24-bit colour LCD.

I'd prefer the Samsung :)

Personally, aiming for a Dell 24" end of the year :)
