We have settled on white, close-knit Dri-fit material, interlock polo collar (meaning - no scratchy edges around the chest area).

To avoid imposing additional cost on our members, we have decided to put the orders on-hold until we have sourced for a printer who is able to give us better prices.

On the other hand, if members do not mind paying between $25 to $30 (inclusive of GST) for a polo shirt, we can still proceed with our current printer (which both of us feel is too costly for a shirt).

I have received PMs from some members saying that they actually don't mind paying S$30 for the polo shirt. But to be fair to everybody, both Jacob: and I will not proceed until:


We received minimum 30 orders (easier for us to negotiate prices with our printer).
We have found a printer who can offer us better prices.

after consulting some professionals, i've decided to change the website domain name to fujifun.com instead as it's short and sweet while best represented us as FUN people instead of the long name previously.

Your suggested web names are too long.

Jacob and I have thought of every combination and possibility, and we finalized with 'fujifun.com'. Also, we have consulted an 'expert' (and fellow FUN member) on this, and he suggested we reduce our web-name to 2 word-length, instead 3. Also, 'fujifun.com' sounds snappy, short and sweet. What's more important, it is easier to remember than the rest.

The word 'FinePix' is already associated with Fujifilm (just like the word 'Walkman' is associated with Sony), therefore, we don't need to emphasize the words 'finepix' and 'fujifilm' again in our web-name. If a person is unfamiliar with the word 'finepix', the 'Fujifilm' logo in front will help.

By the way, Fujifilm is fine with this web-name.

Unfortunately, "somebody" in our team has decided that words 'Finepix Users Network' should be removed.

To that "somebody" - what I meant by 'cleaner design' in that email is we shorten the URL to just 'fujifun.com' instead of 'Finepix Users Network.com'.

The tone of my previous posting is perfectly fine. I don't think I am being offensive or abusive. It is a fact that our polo shirt design has been through too many changes since April, and we totally overlook both Rosemary and Geraldine (two very important people who can help us get things done); who are still waiting patiently for their shirts to be delivered. I promised them the shirts will be ready in July. And what happened? Nothing happened...... because our orders are short. What's more when we had decided that we should go ahead with our initial designs and let Luke help us post our MO in Alphaforum.... you want to change the design, again. Just as Madmacs had mentioned, I thought we have finalized our designs and we should just proceed with our shirt orders and MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Adding the URL was a good idea, but removing the words 'Finepix Users Network' was not (what is 'fujifun' if we don't specify what it means?).

Let me add this..... I am still involve in all future and present Fuji FUN activities in spite of this.

The problem with the first design is cost. It is going to be between $25 to $28 per shirt. Some members are unwilling to fork out more than $20 for a shirt, and this shirt printer will not give us the above prices unless we order 50 shirts or more. Therefore, Jacob and I had already opted out the white/green design long ago.

Members and interest buyers are to vote on the design they prefer (not necessarily the design they like.... sorry, I cannot please everybody), and Jacob and I shall decide based on vote count.

Our lovely FUN polo shirts are in the process of silkscreen printing presently. I should be able to receive them in 2 to 3 weeks' time (no guarantee though). Let's keep our fingers crossed and pray that everything turns out fine.

NOTICE:

Jacob and I are very sorry to inform our members who have ordered the FUN polo shirts that delivery of goods will have to be postponed.

This is what happened...

We collected the shirts from the printer yesterday morning. Before we contact everybody their shirts are ready, we have to sort and test the product ourselves. While washing our own shirts, we discovered that the silkscreen printing is defective.

As for now, we will try to resolve the problem with the printer. Please bear with us as this may takes some time. However, our objective is simple, we want our members to be satisfied with their purchases and wear their FUN shirts with pride.

Again, Jacob and I are extremely sorry that such mishap had happened. We will definitely keep everybody updated with the progress.

I took a lonely (without Jacob), arduous, worrisome and long bus ride to meet the printer early this morning. Waited for 1+ hour at their doorstep before they open for business (I did call their office but nobody answers).

Anyway, here is the outcome of our discussion. Both parties will test the dyes and fabrics for defect. Meanwhile, I had instructed Jacob to wash his shirts in a washing machine with laundry detergent. Let's see where the problem lies.

I will keep everybody updated.

GOOD NEWS! The shirt printer called me on the phone yesterday afternoon. They, too, had found out the silkscreen printing to be defective. As such, they will compensate us the cost of the shirts, and will reprint them free-of-charge.

I am heading there again this Friday to hand them the shirts (I have to buy those polo shirts again). At the same time, I shall look into their countermeasures to prevent such incident from happening again on the our second batch of polo shirts, and also to ensure proper job done.

Jacob will be in overseas by then, so I will keep everybody updated.

The printer has advised us that to ensure a longer-lasting wear of fabric and print, follow these laundry care instructions:


Initial water temperature should not exceed 30°C
Machine Wash, Gentle or Delicate
Wash Fabric Inside-Out
Use Non-Chlorine Bleach (if needed)
Tumble Dry, Normal, No Heat
Iron, Low Heat
Do Not Dryclean

Expect some shrinkage.
