any of you used canon ef-s 17-55mm lens before? is it marvellous? I think it is rather expensive.

i would suggest you go and rent all the lenses that you are interested in and try it out. there are a lot of reviews on the web where you can slowly read though but nothing beat testing it out yourselve.
