I was informed by Richard Seah a.k.a. bluffname (who complaint to Fujifilm Japan about the ridiculous replacement part cost at Fujifilm Singapore) that Fujifilm Singapore has reduced the price of replacing the rubber grip of the S5 Pro from S$165 (before GST) to S$80 (before GST). This new price is still higher than the S$72 (with GST) which Nikon Service Centre in Singapore charges to replace the rubber grip of the D200. However, I do not feel that the new price is too much for most of us to bare.

Unfortunately, their sensor cleaning fee is still very high compared to the amount Nikon and Canon charge.

Here is the actual post from 'the other photo forum' by Richard:

"I got a reply, not from Fujifilm Japan but from Tan Eng Kiat from Fujifilm Singapore, who says he "received my email".

Anyway, I spoke with him on the phone and he said there was some miscommunication with ZeroDivine (which his colleague already communicated or was told to communicate with ZeroDivine) and the labour cost for changing the rubber is only $30.

So altogether, including parts, labour and GST for the garmen, it works out to $80+ which is okay lah, at least not outrageous.

Mr Tan adds that the change will take about 3 days (depending on what time you send in), because they need to order the part from the warehouse.

Overall, we had a pleasant and courteous conversation, none of the "take it or leave it attitude" although I suppose price is still fixed and not open to negotiations"
