F1 will be held here for the next 5 years with the 1st most likely to be a night race if safety issues can be settled.

Kinda wonder how it will be like to shoot a F1 race...dunno if can even get near enough to shoot or not...

We need to recce a good place for shooting...
By that time, maybe we can organise a group outing to take the shots.

I reckon a long and fast telephoto lens will be needed for this especially when its gonna be a night race.

:clap2: :clap2:Don't go for just an outing. Get the inside track and book a hotel room, like now.

No chance. They'd have to close the roads used for the circuit for 3 days in the day time. Don't forget there are 2 sessions of practice on Friday plus the Saturday practice and qualifying on top of the race on Sunday.

If book hotel room, which hotel would be the most suitable and @ which floor?
Another point to consider. What if the view is blocked by the trees?

Hotel rooms with good vantange to the race will cost an arm and a leg plus they will also be booked way before the F1 weekend. I don't know which roads will be used for the circuit but I have a feeling rooms facing Collyer Quay at the Fullerton will offer fantastic views of the race.

should be a gd place to shoot as the racers have to slow down for the hair pin turn...

then again...with the up to 30% F1 tax...i do expect the cheapest room to cost around $500 a night for hotels in that area. n start booking like now...

TODAY papers headlines
Just $40 to watchS'pore F1?

Setting the sights on 100,000 tickets spectators, don't think our National Day got so many live audiences before, less tv.

Of course if the Night race is on, the challenge for photographer will be the lights. It might even push your camera ISO up to 3200, or even 6400 for the Mark III. Talk about Night Panning of F1 car going up to 300km/hr!

You'll probably be standing the whole time praying to the rain gods to have mercy on you.

heehee if rain most likely the race will delay? Driving in the night with heavy downpour is no joke. Potiental danger to the driver, working personnel or even audience. The last suituation would don't wan to see is Ferrari, Felipe Massa kissing McLaren-Mercedes, Fernando Alonso backside.

The race will definitely be delayed if there is an unforecasted downpour but this would get the organisers into a very tricky situation cos they can't afford to delay too long especially if the rain arrives on race day. I'm sure they will also have loads to do to get the roads ready again for public use once the race is over...

If there is a heavy downpour, maybe there might be a chance for the straits times to have a screaming headline "Ferrari in the bottom of Singapore River"...

don't think it will go too well with the F1 organisers. :happy1:

If that's the case, I'm sure the headlines will read "Ferrari in the bottom of Singapore River with eight unfortunate spectators!"

There's no way an F1 car will end up in the drink here in Singapore without taking some spectators with it.

haha i got a good laugh at what you wrote, of course the risk assessment of 'racing' into Sg river is very slim. :cheer:
