Hi, I'm totally new to DSLR. I've bought a Sony D350 mainly to take family and travel photos.
Realised that it's very difficult to take nice pic of my 2 years old daughter especially when she's moving. The "moving part" of her body will be blur.
I've been using the Aperture mode for taking pics most of the time.
Can some one teach me which settings should i go for when I wan to take my daughter running around?
Thanks:confused1:

Okay, you owe me a cup of kopi O and a slice of kaya toast...
First mistake, use Shutter Priority whenever you are capturing moving person or object.
More tips and you will have to treat me shark fin soup at a restaurant.

Me no guru.... but 'gundu'.
Frankly, the TS that should not shun away from blurry images. Sometimes, such images can portray movement and individual creativity. In fact, I prefer a 'blurry' image which shows action or depth more than one that is sharp, static and flat.

This Night Traffic shot was taken at a very slow speed just to illustrate the flow of traffic and blur motion. Focus was on the foreground road.

Now this photo of the windows are in focus and the foreground flowers are out of focus, just to add a touch of colour and depth.

The blur reflection of the stadium was achieved by placing the camera on top of my car roof and the focus point is on the stadium itself.
Adding a touch of illusion to this simple shot.

Let me illustrate some examples of which blurring is captured deliberately.
Both images were taken at the ongoing Da:ns Festival 2009 at Esplanade. To depicts dance, movement is vital. Without movement, it is just another posed picture.
A flamboyant dance which reflects the townsfolk’s playful interaction with the seagulls while awaiting at the beach for the arrival of fishermen with their catch
