Another BBB recommendation for those in the shopping mood... You may have noticed in the past that whenever I ask KopiOKaya about how he makes his photos more BOOMZ his answer would be something like

Just pay about S$500 (not my fee) and you will know the answer liao.

Sorry arh, KopiOKaya that I reveal your secret... This answer can be found here (http://www.niksoftware.com/store/usa/entry.php?view=singlepurchase/usa_CC_ps_aa-family.shtml) and it is now on special offer - US$200 off - for the Photoshop edition (normal price US$599) and for next FOUR DAYS ONLY. I think the offer is made known only to those on their mailing list, anyone interested PM me your email address and I forward the promotional email to you. Otherwise, just type in the special offer code HOLIDAY2009.

BTW: KopiOKaya's reference to S$500 is for the cheaper Lightroom or Aperture version, which costs US$299 online or just over S$400. However, RiceBall is selling yet another version for Lightroom AND Aperture, at S$600+

BBB! Make your photos BOOMZ

Alamak! The fine print says promotion for US and Canadian residents only. But how will they know where you live if you buy the download version, not theCD version? Give yourself an ang moh name, buy through "no country" email account like gmail, and see if it works.

Or use services like Vpost, Comgateway or Borderlinx. No need to use ang moh names lah... There are plenty of Asians (especially Chinese) living in the US.

By the way, it doesn't mean that whoever bought the software can make their images 'BOOMZ' immediately. They must know how to adjust also, and this requires 'kung fu'.

Of course, of course. Just as use same camera / lens also does not mean will get 'BOOMZ' Photos.
Then they must pay a fee to study kung fu from Kopi O'Kaya, Bludder of Ballack O'Bama, lor

By the way, I already revealed my 'secret' a few days ago. Here it was:

As I told you on the bus, I shot it using shutter priority at 1/125 secs. However, the aperture is f11 at ISO 2,500. I shot in RAF and converted with Fuji Utility Conversion Kit. Then I used Nik Software to 'enhance' the structure of the flame. Then resized in Photoshop. No cropping.

It was old news. Nothing secretive liao.

I just went to check out the BBB on NikSoftware and discovered that there is a 20% discount on the Lightroom version if you type in the coupon code HOLIDAY2009. So it is only US$239 for complete set of FIVE software.

Offer ends Monday midnight US time. Hully hully!

Actually those who never use Photoshop before may not appreciate how fantastic this software is. Cerrtain adjustments here are just so much easier to do than with Photoshop. Just click on the area you want to adjust (eg face of the person), enlarge / decrease the area and than you can adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and everything else.

With photoshop, you need to first define the area. And if you have an area with lots of fine lines like hair, or irregular shape, or distracting objects eg a net covering the face... wah you can define until give up.

Anyway watch the video demo or download trial version to play play and try try first. I recommend at least watch Vivenza and Silver Efex videos.

Also, please make sure that when you go to www.niksoftware.com you select INTERNATIONAL. Otherwise, the default is European site and you pay the same figure in Euros instead of US$.

As much as Fuji pays you to organise F.U.N. outings.

As much as Fuji pays you to organise F.U.N. outings.

Fuji pays me nothing and I don't keep saying good things about their products. In fact, I have been very reserved about the words I used to describe their new products. If a Fuji product is good, I will say it is good. Otherwise I will just introduce it briefly and give my honest and humble opinions.
