I went to Weekend II of the Yindian Festival last night. It was performance by an Yindan lock band. No big deal, not worth the trip although I did end up with one pix that I am happy with....

So in case some of you are thinking of doing so, no point to rush to Esplanade after this afternoon's sHOOT(s) at Keong Siak Street. Better we enjoy dinner and Talk Cock Sing Song - there is/was actually a pub by this name there, look out for it.

I find the performance on Thursday evening pretty good. Too bad they only have a 1 day performance at this Indian festival.

The 7 piece band is from Malaysia called AkashA. They played mix of Indian, Chinese, Malay and Western music blend together, kind of world music type.

Instruments used are Sitar, Tabla, Mridangam, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Electronic Piano/KeyBoard and various other percussions.

Special guest performance with flute..

Ah! The usher also told me Thursday was good, but I didn't know. Also I didn't know Thursday different group. I checked the programme and the names look similar! Alamak, really need to check my eyes.

Anyway, good meaning good music or good photo opportunities? The one on Friday music was pretty good, just nothing much to shoot. Or maybe I spoiled by Topeng liao.

No wonder the fusion bands are confusing.. Both bands start with letter "A" and end also with the letter "A" :confused1:

The Malaysian Band, AkashaA, played on Thursday (only 1 day)

The Indian Band, Advaita, plays from Friday to Sunday (3 days)
