I must say I really appreciate everybody (including non-members) for making the series of FUN is ONE! events an overall success. I sincerely hope most of you enjoyed yourselves during these few outings.
First of all, I will like to apologize to members for the delay of our start time.
Secondly, there should have been better planning of outing routes (our route had to be shorten by half today due to gloomy sky and light drizzle).
Thirdly, directions to the meeting venue could be more specific and concise.
Fourthly, some members were left behind and alone today despite our thorough planning.
Last but not least, a few members were not properly introduced which led to misunderstanding and embarrassment.
These are some of the areas we can improve and, hopefully we will be better prepared for our future FUN outings.
Again, a big THANK YOU to all.

A BIG THANKYOU to u guys too,
Wow Bro, U r really a perfectionist in terms of your self evaluation.
I basically found the series of events wonderful, unexpected weathers and other factors were parts and parcels of photography/ outing. It is us that make the outing a special and meaningful 1. Off course, all of us will contribute and make the next outing better and with off course with some blessing on weather 天公保佑。
One example - I will not forget the 90-92(Green/Blue) WB lesson that I learned yesterday. (Thanks, Uncle Kong)
Wrong WB resulted in Green turned out to be Blue color.

Again, a big THANK YOU to all.
Wah! Paiseh leh... we are supposed to say a BIG THANK YOU to you but you say first. Thanks Kopi O'Kaya for all the hard work and sacrifices you made. The results of your efforts are very clear and F.U.N. will surely grow bigger and closer.
And apologies, everyone, for being late. I had actually discussed with Kopi O'Kaya about a meeting place that is "easy" for everyone, yet I was the one who ended up being lost in the hawker centre, because I went up the wrong escalator and then walked round and round to look for you guys. So instead of being slightly late, which was already paiseh, I became very late.

For those who have missed our outing yesterday, the wall is yellow indeed. This IS the correct color.

More 90-92 lessons...
Thinking about it, I believe the reason why the green part of the photo turned blue is not because of overcast sky or the fact that the numbers were in the shade.
It is because the scene was mainly yellow - which is a warm colour, so if the White Balance is set to AUTO the camera compensates by making the image cooler, ie more blue / cyan. In this case, it compensates a bit too much and so the green became blue.
If don't believe, go back on a bright sunny day and shoot again. I am pretty sure the green will still turn out blue. Or shoot some non-yellow scene in the shade and see if the colour runs. eg if shoot green leaves in the shade or on overcast day, they will still appear green, not blue.
Setting White Balance to SHADE helps because in the shade there is less sun, therefore less yellow and the camera compensates by making image more yellow. But again it overcompensates and the "correct" colour is actually a bit too yellow, although now the green appears green.
The "best" solution in this case is not to set to SHADE. Not only it over compensates, but if later forget to re-set to AUTO or whatever, then
Best solution is to shoot raw and then adjust colour temperature accordingly.

It's WAY more complicated than this. In fact, fooling newer digital cameras these days with different kinds of lights and different colors doesn't happen anymore. The camera's proprietary firmware is significantly smarter than this.
Which is why results from Fujifilm's auto white balance is different from Nikon's. Nikon's is different from Canon's. Canon's is different from Sony's, and so on...

I post the four photo taken in sequence 1 to 4 with details of exposure, shutter speed and white balance.
No. 1 - 3 are using Auto White Balance and No. 4 is a custom White Balance.
All four photos are original and no PP. only resize to 30% of original
Let's see what are your comments.
