Contest fever - ION Orchard

For those hit by the photo contest fever, here is another to TTT (try try try) - a photo contest organised by Harpers Bazaar and ION Orchard. Details HERE (http://www.ionorchard.com/whats-on/promotions/351-bazaar-photography-awards)

Themes are fashion, art and architecture. Must shoot at Ion Orcahrd but cannot shoot inside the shops. I take that to mean ok to shoot from corridor pointing into the shop?

Prize is not cash, but actually worth quite a lot of money. First prize includes Blackberry smart phone, holiday in Phuket (claimed to be worth $4,000) plus $2000 worth of shopping vouchers.

Very difficult decision GGM.

My choices are:

1) Prada (great lighting with "kim kim" feel)
2) Taiqi (hands, the specialty of GGM)
3) Eyelashes (I like the feel of mystic)
4) White (it is white indeed with ornament breaking the white)
5) LV (weakest of the 5)

the shoe/ Cinderella pix must definitely b in.

U choose the other 4 pic. Taiqi is the last I would choose for the Ion theme. But pix by itself is indeed a great shot.

Did u consider the fisheye escalation photo u took in the am with bro-Ex? The one with advertisement caught my attention.

My ION contest shortlist Sorry arh! Excuse me for posting more to ask you guys help me choose because, according to KopiOKaya, only one or two of my original shortlist "can make it". He chose the while pix and, if I remember correctly, the model on steps with shoes.

KN-NAH This is my juxtaposition "mistake" that KopiOKaya suggests, but personally I not sure if it is suitable for a contest such as this, although KopiOKaya has looked through Harpers Bazaar and he says he is giving his views by looking from the judges viewpoint.

HANDS LIPS Again, something different... and with some clothes showing instead of bare hands, maybe better for "fashion" than my taiqi pix, which Amerture thought may not be suited to the theme.

Hi all,

These are my suggestions after looking through the pics.

* Harpers Bazzar is a female fashion magazine, hence try to submit pictures depicting female fashion.
* They are looking at a fashion spread of similar quality to those seen in Harpers Bazzaar. This Magazine is famous for integrating architecture into their fashion spread with very strong visual and artistic merits. Hence, they will be looking at how one integrates fashion with the ION shopping mall to form a good fashion spread.
* Try to have some links in the pics to form a basic storyboard in your submission spread.

The shoe/model on stairs should be the one I mentioned - Shoe/Cinderella. Rite? Heehee, I have the same taste with the master KopiO kaya

- Up LV (something missing?) / White
- Escalator
- Lips (colorful)

As Bro Buckteeth mentioned, artistic/architecture and fashion are the important elements.

Much appreciated even if I did not go with your choices. Very hard leh, got so many inputs to consider including my own. But I happy with my final selection, which are quite different from my original lot. :cheers:
