It has been a long time since i wrote such a lengthy post. Nevertheless, Happy Labour Day!! I'll soon be part of the force as i graduate in a couple days time after my last paper. While i look forward to more outing since i havent join you all for the longest, i am glad our tiny community has grew over the years.
Well, today i would like to discuss on artificial lighting. Yes, FLASH
I know we all hate using artificial light. however, one cannot deny if one has to use it he must( eg: weddings, events)
How do you guys do up your settings? I have no idea but mine through trial and error i have came up with this few settings. Hopefully our Masters KopiOkaya and Bluffname and Excelgis who are veteran with there s5pro and photography can guide me
#1 indoors low ceiling
S5pro
Matrix Metering
Manual Mode fix settings at 1/80 f5.6
ISO 800-1600 depending
Flash Auto at 60 degrees with no bounce card
#2 indoors high ceiling
S5pro
matrix Metering
Manual Mode fix settings at 1/80 f5.6
ISO 800-1600 depending
Flash Auto at 45 degrees with no bounce card or 60 degrees with a bounce card
* comments i hate to use high iso above 800 and will spot metering be more effective when using flash?
Say if you were to use Aperture Mode, sometimes i prefer to set my ISO indoors at 500/640 and i get super low shutter speeds like 1/20 at f4
Am i doing the right thing with manual exposure fix and just wack or how should i go about it? Also say if i am using a long lens do you use direct flash to reach your subject?
we have always been talking about camera settings, maybe we can discuss about the usage on flash on our s5pro. I believe it will help many bros/uncles here too when shooting events. Why is it alot people use a diffuser with the flash when it ITTL mode? wouldn't the flash get tricked into producing even more power?
Hope to learn more about how to handle such situations also to make photos with flash look tooo flat.
Here are some i have experiment done a few months some a year ago. But i am still not able to achieve how i want it to look. i believe the key to photography is controlling lights and maybe i reach GGM standards or with KopiOkaya's knowledge level some day.
