Planet 5D (http://blog.planet5d.com/2010/07/lasers-can-damage-your-canon-hdslr-cameras-cmos-sensor/) is reporting this story from Theis Poulsen of Spain, who got his Canon 5D Mark II’s sensor damaged by a laser at a show recently. In this video it is fairly clear when the damage is done. I do not know if any info is directly available from Canon on this topic. I will look into it further and post an update.
