As part of my 2nd prize for the EAT PRAY LOVE photo contest, I have $150 worth of vouchers from Modestos. So I propose we eat song2 there, I pay the first $150 and we split the rest of the bill. And since this is near the Botanic Gardens, KopiOKaya suggested we shoot there. I suggest the Orchid Gardens, which is where the more interesting orchids and other flowers / plants can be found, without having to cover a big area. Entrance fee is $5.

SHOOT AND EAT SONG2 AT 2ND F.U.N. ANNIVERSARY


This coming 2nd F.U.N. Anniversary shall be a partial treat from me, to eat song2 at Italian pizza restaurant Modestos @ Orchard Parade Hotel. As part of my 2nd prize for the EAT PRAY LOVE photo contest, I have $150 worth of vouchers from Modestos. So I propose we eat song2 there, I pay the first $150 and we split the rest of the bill. And since this is near the Botanic Gardens, KopiOKaya suggested we shoot there. I suggest the Orchid Gardens, which is where the more interesting orchids and other flowers / plants can be found, without having to cover a big area. Entrance fee is $5.

So mark your diaries and keep the date free. ALL F.U.N. members, including new and inactive members, invited.


DATE / TIME: Saturday 20 Nov, 5pm for sHOOT song2, those cannot make it join us for dinner around 7:45pm.

PLACE: Meet at entrance of Orchid Gardens but those who want to shoot more just go earlier and meet us inside. Those only want to eat song2, meet at Modestos. This is at the side of the hotel, facing the small road with Orchard Parade on one side, Forum Galleria on other side.

What to bring:
The usual FUJI camera equipment and/or filem
Macro / close up lenses for shooting flowers
Tripod if you want to shoot flowers serious2
Enough money to pay for the rest of the meal. Modestos is high-end Italian pizza restaurant, I will go check out the menu and give you rough indication. Probably will not exceed $20 per person after using the vouchers.

Some tips for shooting at Orchid Gardens:

Don't start shooting the moment you enter. There are nicer, more exotic flowers and orchids further inside.
Bring along a long / telephoto lens as well because sometimes you may wish to shoot a flower that is some distance away. Not all flowers can go near near
There is a cool houise which re-creates high mountain climate, quite interesting inside,.
REMEMBER THE "SAFRA THEMES" - passion, motion, moment, open/close, rush, shine, explore.... errrr... I forgot what else!

It is rumored to be available in stores by February or March 2011. Fujifilm Singapore will not let us test it until its official launch. By then, you should be able to try it out yourself too.

I hope it is more functional than sexy. Nowadays new cameras launched are getting worse and worse. No wonder nowadays dinosaurs like D2X is back in play. One BSBSBS speculator is selling it as high as $3K+++. :eek:
