Just to know of any good locations for photo shoot in Singapore? If yes, can you list out all that you have done so far and I would like to know where they are.

I am sure you are aware that different theme requires different location. Example, you don't expect to see bikini models in front of City Hall. Although, this can be interesting to explore.

Read your postings since 2007. Can see u were pretty interested in event and fashion photoshooting. Great.

May I explore with u the objective of your question? Need to know so that we can help u better? Are u local?

Are you searching for ideas and locations as u already have model for professional job (being paid) or TFCD (free)? We are all nice bro here willing to help.

Currently, there is Fashion Season @ Orchard thingy going on. There will also be workshops, makeover sessions, a window display contest and a modelling contest. More details are available at www.fsoorchard.com. This will satisfy your need on event shooting. Professional Models readily available for you to test out your skill n equipments.

If you are local, there is many locations for your different themes right at your finger tips. Most importantly, it is a place u and your tfcd model comfortable with.

TO start with..... may be u can go to the portrait forum to explore on the possible location and others. Google " Portrait and Singapore forum" will get u lots of idea and inspiration. If u managed to find one photo that u like so much. U can ask the Thread starter or photographer for the location. At times, it could be quite ordinary place around u. It is you and the model.... the feel, x-factor, mood, that made the difference.

Or u can pay to join those photo session organised by professional organisers.

U can also join flickr's group - SIngapore to explore all locations in Singapore. woW... i din realised there are so many places and nice locations.

If it is your friend or strangers for TFCD, you can explore with them on various locations, to make them more comfortable. Interaction can also help u to get the feel and inspiration.

I have no experience in such photoshooti that u are en-quiring on. So far I went to Esplanade, Chinatown and Little India, AMK garden etc. But for good spirit as Sgshoot members, I am willing to share and explore with u. Bro out there can me if i suggested wrongly.


1) bikini - Beaches
2) casual - all reservoirs Fort Canning, everywhere. Orchard, Esplanade, Chinatown etc
3) dress - Everywhere as above/ below - fort Canning, Pulau Ubin etc
4) fashion - gardens, beaches, - fort canning, Clark/ Boat Quay, Esplanade , orchard singapore flyer. every where.
5) sporty - SPort complex, beaches, everywhere
6) clubbing/party - Clark/Boat Quay, Orchard, everywhere

If it is all themes in 1 location, suggest u book a hotel room. Do make sure both of you are not alone. Ask your model to bring her friends. I am more than happy to join u if our time permits. Any bro interested?

If u are keen and interested, u can spend sometime visit the place to find out more. I have followed my senior and senior himself visited the same place many times (4-5 times ) to explore the place to ensure a well planned outing. Let me know, i can join u if time permits.

Can u share on your past outing locations, themes, model u taken. Show us your photo/ portfolio.

Do share with us what u have explored recently or potential place in your mind. U have to write more to help us.... to help u better.

Or if u already manage to get XMM, friends for TFCD shooting. Get some of your friends or invite us to join u.

And by the way, I have done fashion shoots at Kranji War Memorial for the studio I used to work. Engfk may wish to explore there. Another interesting location I have shot is Seletar Camp. The old buildings makes great backgrounds. By the way, photography is allowed there.

For clubbing/party, try DXO at Esplanade. I understand from my former colleague, this is a great entertainment location to shoot. You must write in to seek the management's approval 1 or 2 weeks before your shoot. They have to know your objectives and are your pictures for commercial use, etc.

Dampsey/ Gillman Heigh should be good also.

My hands are full already with stage performance, street photography, and recently on macro........ need to work harder on this areas.

Offcourse, I have enjoyed taking photo (snapshot) for my kids and relative. I'll love to go into fashion/ portraits photography.

Senior engfk, may b u can help to get me into your fashion portraits photography. I old uncle liao.... no portfolio to show and cannot get any friends/XMM/ strangers for TFCD photo session. also no money to go for professional outing.

Senior engfk, u have to explore these places to prepare yourself for the exact spot and composition. No 1 can help u on these details other than u exploring the pics posted on the web.

I feel that Dempsey and Gillman Height are too commercialized liao. Gloucester/Portsdown area is a rather interesting location to shoot fashion.
